Transparent methodology

How our estimates work.

Every result is built from visible assumptions so you can understand, adjust and challenge the number.

1. Project quantity

We begin with the area, length, volume or time entered by the user. Each calculator applies a project-specific formula and a reasonable allowance for cutting, breakage, overlaps or offcuts.

2. Materials and labour

Indicative baseline rates are applied separately to material quantity and professional labour. Finish level adjusts the material allowance, while labour can be included or removed.

3. Regional adjustment

A broad location index adjusts the baseline into the selected currency and market. It reflects general differences in wages and supply costs, not a live contractor or retailer feed.

4. Planning range

We show a low-to-high range rather than a false single-price promise. Site access, preparation, taxes, permits, delivery, specialist work and hidden damage can move the final price.

Review schedule

Rates and explanatory guidance are periodically reviewed. The review date appears at the top of the website. Users should still verify local prices before committing money.
